Curriculum Vita

Srinivas Aluru is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University. His research interests include parallel models, algorithms and applications, computational biology and scientific computing. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER award (1997), IBM faculty award (2002), Young Engineering Faculty Excellence Award from Iowa State College of Engineering (2002), and Warren B. Boast Undergraduate Teaching Award from the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering (2005). He is a senior member of IEEE and the IEEE Computer Society, and is an IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Visitor from 2004 to 2006.

Prior to joining ISU, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at New Mexico State University from 1996 to 1999 and as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the School of Computer and Information Science at Syracuse University from 1994 to 1996. He received his B.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, in 1989 and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Iowa State University in 1991 and 1994.
